What is single channel (single port) laparoscopy?
- It means the operation conducted by looking into the stomach through a small hole on a belly.
- Laparoscopy operation has a little surgical site, pain, or risk of bleeding and infection. The recovery after the surgery is also very short and it scarcely harms the appearance. Almost every minor cause or operation led by laparotomy including diagnosis and treatment of fibroid, ovary, ectopic pregnancy and infertility is possible by laparoscopy. Especially, in comparison with laparotomy in view of infertility treatment, it reduces the time required for a trial of pregnancy after operation, and raises a rate of pregnancy success.
